Pleomorphic adenoma, commonly known as a benign salivary gland tumor, is primarily treated through surgical removal. This approach is appropriate because pleomorphic adenomas can grow asymptomatically over time and have the potential to cause complications if not addressed, including the risk of malignant transformation and local tissue invasion.
